Greenbriar Studio is the portrait and 3D software business of David Mathews

Software - David has been a C/C++ programmer for over 20 years on Unix, Mac and Windows platforms. A long time hobby with writing 3D graphics systems and frustration with not being able to get the models he wanted into the software packages he wanted and then getting them to behave, became the basis for the current software tools.

Fine Art - David creates portrait paintings in both oil and pastel. He also creates portrait sculptures in terra cotta, bronze and porcelain.

Starting as an illustrator, his interests led him on to portrait work. He spent four years studying with local portrait artists and has also studied with Margaret Baumgaertner and Philippe Faraut. He is a juried member of the Degas Pastel Society, juried member and past director of the Atlanta Portrait Society, Member of Excellence of the Southeastern Pastel Society and a member of the Portrait Society of America and the Pastel Society of America. His pastel and oil portraits have won numerous awards at Atlanta Portrait Society and Southeastern Pastel Society juried shows. David teaches pastel and oil portrait painting at the Mabel House in Mableton, as well as regular private classes in his studio and three day workshops in the southeastern US and France.
